Q: Do we have to buy the mattress foundation or can we just put the mattress on a bed frame,, as long as the bed frame we buy is strong enough?

A: Hey Lily. In terms of using our Metal Bed Frame, you will require a foundation on top to provide the required support the mattress will need. Without this support, the mattress will not have its weight distributed correctly and you will run the risk of deforming the mattress. The warranty would also be voided in this case. Q: Can I put the Logan & Cove mattress right on a wooden slat platform?

A: Hi, Donna! We strongly recommend using a slatted base with slats no more than 3" apart and no less than 2" wide. Following this specifications will ensure your Logan & Cove is properly supported to prevent premature sagging.

Q: Hello, can the douglass mattress be used only with a metal frame? Or do you need add the foundation to make the mattress more comfortable?

A: Hi, Dawn!

Acceptable foundations include:
- adjustable bases;
- solid untreated wood platform beds;
- horizontally slatted systems with gaps no more than 3 inches apart and slats no less than 2 inches wide;
- non-flexing box springs that are in good repair;
- foundations specifically designed for memory foam/latex beds.

For queen, king, and California king mattresses, platform beds and slat systems require at least one centre support beam.

If your box spring, foundation, base or bed frame uses coils, springs, or metal bars or grids then it is not compatible with your Douglas mattress and will cause premature sagging. A simple solution is to place a sheet of unfinished plywood at least 1/2" thick over the top of any box spring, foundation, base or bed frame that uses metal components to provide your new mattress with the support it needs. Q: Interested in purchasing one of your mattresses, queen size. Could I put it on my existing box spring matress? Would that be supportive enough?

A: Hi, Michelle! If your box spring has a flat platform top or slats that are 2" wide or greater and spaced no more than 3" apart, it can be used with our mattresses. However, if your box spring has coils, bars, or a wire/metal grid, it wouldn't be able to provide enough support.
